TFT.
Thought Field Therapy or Callahan Technique.
Thought Field Therapy or TFT is a revolutionary technique used in the treatment of psychological problems. This method has been developed and refined over the last twenty years by California Psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan. In Thought Field Therapy, the client is asked to think about a specific issue that is troublesome. This is commonly an anxiety, a phobia, a trauma, a loss, or a feeling of anger or of guilt.
Typically, the client has been stuck in these feelings for a long time, knows they are irrational, but has found that other therapies have not helped.
The client is asked to quantify the feeling on a scale of 1 to 10, with ten representing the most intense feelings of upset. Next, the patient is asked to tap on his or her own body in specific places, (on Accupuncture points), in a specific order. The most surprising thing for clients and therapists alike is that it really does work and very rapidly too. The client typically tries but cannot get back the original feeling of upset about the identified issue.
TFT has sometimes been summarised as "Accupuncture for the emotions without needles".
